Gardens By The Bay - Mid Autumn Celebration.

A day before I started my holiday school, my mum told me that after school, we are going to Gardens By The Bay to walk around and I was so happy because I appreciate her for planning an outing instead of saying let's go out when we do not know where to go.

So after class, I went home, changed, grab my DSLR and off we went!!

Gardens By The Bay organized a mid-autumn festival @ The Garden which is the outdoor area filled with elaborate lantern displays, cultural performances and activities which transform the grounds into a unique visual spectacle and celebration for the family.
Admission is free.

I reached Gardens By The Bay at around 5 I guess and there was no crowd at all, heard from the store vendors that they are not earning much because of the lack of crowd. BUT, okay, the view was spectacular, the sky was super pretty which makes the photos turn out super nice!

This is the map for the garden and the special programs available for each day. Click to view larger image.

Once you walk into the park, this is what you will see. Look at how beautiful it is~ It looks so surreal.

The 'lantern' decorations before lighting up.

In case you guys missed me, here's a picture of me.

Saw a large patch of grass so my mum decided to do a mini photo shoot there, so pretty right! The best place to take pictures of everything.

So this is a kind of game where you need to count the number of this frog around the whole garden and tell the amount to a counter. If you got it right you will win some prizes~

A cool sculpture in the middle of nowhere. A naked baby. haha. The second picture is something I took cause I was bored: NEWSFLASH - Giant Baby Kicking MBS.

A couple of these were lined up along the road but I didn't take a lot of photos of them because I don't want to.

This is one of the lantern decorations - Jurassic Park. There was a lot more dinosaurs and stuff but I like this t-rex the most.

LOOK AT THIS. When I took the photos, I was shocked because it looked like I jump and fell into candyland. The sky, the road, the grass, everything looks so vibrant and fake. But it was real.

So here are some more lantern decorations. Three little pigs and some ants. I don't know why there's the company's name, perhaps they sponsored it?

Some multi-racial lantern decorations.
Is it just me or does this man in the center looks like someone in a Disney cartoon?

Saw this cute little elephant and I really wanted to go out but I told my mum, "If I go on it, the whole thing will collapse."

Stage and seats for people who are watching the performance.

Food stalls available. There's a lot of things to choose from!

After you buy your food, you can grab a seat here and enjoy it!

So we walked back to the place with all these metal trees and my mum kept trying to convince me to go up the 'trees', at first I refused because I felt that it was a waste of money but I complied.
This is where you will be if you go up, it's quite freaky because the floor you are stepping on is actually metal grills and you can see through them. When there's a lot of people or wind, the bridge will tend to move so be warned.

So happy when I saw the moon because it's so pretty! Decided to stay on top a little longer for the sky to turn darker.

So the cons about this place is that there's all these metal strips which holds the bridge up but they are very annoying when you want to take a picture.

So finally it got darker and it's just so beautiful~

Love this photo, love the sky, love my life.

We went down and continue walking, by that time my legs were hurting but we just can't stop. Saw more lanterns decoration and now they are lighted up.
There's a lantern for each horoscope.

Had a great time with my mum and love all the photos I've taken. I didn't upload all the pictures here because some are quite repetitive so if you want to see more, do visit my facebook page!

xoxo.

My Secret Mooncake Stash - Bakerzin.

Shhhhhhh.....
Welcome to my secret garden where I let you in on my deepest darkest secret... nah just joking. So for the past 17 years of my life, I hated mooncakes because I think its just too sweet and gross. Every year during mid-autumn festival, I've never eaten any mooncakes at all.

BUT,

because of a friend, I got to try Bakerzin's mooncake and I fell in love~ I started loving mooncakes but not as much as Bakerzin's one. I know this post is a little late because mid-autumn is over but there's always next year!! I wanted to do this post earlier but didn't get the time to snap photos of it and I didn't want to take and credit other people's picture. So I finally took the photos today and here is the post!

Bakerzin offers a lot of flavors, with both baked and snow skin. However I am a fan of baked mooncakes so I only bought that. From all the flavors, you MUST TRY the Premium Egg Yolk Mooncake!

Comes in a box like this. With rabbits at the top and all around. One box consist of four mooncakes.

So this is what the inside looks like. There's only two because I ate one & a half already.

The mooncake! With rabbits on it~

And.. the inside! That's why it is so special and why I love it so much. Normally when you buy mooncakes with salted egg yolk, the egg yolk comes in a round whole which is very hard and very difficult to cut it into pieces. However, there is no such trouble with Bakerzin's mooncake because the salted egg yolk is spread throughout the whole layer and you can taste the yolk in every bite.

So, if you are someone who doesn't like mooncakes, do try this because it may just change everything. Do visit Bakerzin the next mid-autumn to get some of this goodies!

xoxo.

p.s. - I should get paid for this. Sigh. HAHA.
