Maison Ikkoku @ Bugis

Aloha everyone~

So if you have been reading my blog, you would know that my module forced us to set up a blog and mine was a food blog. So my foodsaurus team and I decided to go visit Maison Ikkoku on Tuesday! It was a random idea given by one of my friend but it was fun.


Went there after our class, really wanted to vlog because I was so inspired by this youtuber but I can't step out of my comfort zone cause I'm afraid people would think I'm weird talking to a phone. But I have been itching to vlog :(


Okay okay, so we went to Maison Ikkoku, its just a short walk away from Bugis MRT. Went in and the menu was kinda different from those I've seen online.. I think they will change it from time to time.. Took a look at the cakes they offered and I was so tempted cause all the flavors looked soooo good but I still decided to get the mains cause I am a pig. Let's take a look~

 Milo Nutella Cake $8.00

 Malted Chocolate Cake $8.00 - This is fluffy and nice, I am usually not a fan of chocolate cake but this was good! It wasn't too sweet but it's flavourful! 

Piccolo Latte $4.20 - I wasn't expecting such a small cup, it's like the size of a shot glass. It looks really pretty but I have to say, its not very nice. It's sour and I don't like it :( 

Pasta of the day $15.00 - So the pasta of that day was meatball marinara so I ordered it! Its actually good! The flavor was just nice but the meatballs were a little tough :) 

So, I would totally go back again to try some of their other things and their cakes! After we have eaten, we went to take some OOTD for my friend and I decided to 'vlog' - without me in it, Haha, I need to be more brave. So enjoy this video! I'm really thinking of creating a new youtube channel to really put my heart into vlogging but let's see..

Where's the seat?

안녕하세요! Hehe. 

So the three of us finally met up after quite sometime because of our busy schedule! If you don't know who meant when I say the three of us, you can see it below. 

Went to have steamboat with Doris because we were craving for it! It was so good and we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. After that, we went for SHOPPING!! I wanted to go to Bugis street for quite sometime already but didn't have the chance so we went there, bought 3 tops and some food. I was super happy because I found my fried ice cream!! OMG, it's like heaven in your mouth! Best thing ever!! I'm gonna go back there to have some more!! 

 This crepe doesn't like me.. I got my lips poked by it and my tongue got cut.

So after walking around, we went over to 49seats which explains the title of this post. My friend called the restaurant and wanted to reserve three seats, the girl on the phone told her that we don't have to reserve because seats will be kept for walk in customers. However, when we were there, the person told us if we wanted to sit in the air conditioned area, we will have to leave within an hour. Who goes to a cafe and only stays for an hour?? So we chose to sit in the outdoor area instead and its actually good cause natural lighting makes a picture looks better!! 

By the way, before we get to the food, haha actually 49seats is only a 5 minutes walk away from Outram Park MRT, but we took around 15-20 minutes to get there cause we are the smartest person on earth. You can never trust us with directions. 

OKAY FOOD! 

 So we ordered our mains and if you just add $4.90, you can get the set meal which consist of a soft drink and soup of the day! We got mushroom soup and ice lemon tea!

 Golden escargot $9.9 - This is not nice. It's very oily and salty so that's practically the only taste you get.

 Tom Yum Seafood Pasta $14.90 - This is really really flavorful! Spicy and sour! There's a lot of seafood inside so it's really worth the money. However, would recommend you to finish this while its hot cause once it turns cold, it gets kinda thick and you will get sick of it. 

 Chicken Chop $13.90 - You can choose two sides, in this case its fries and garden salad. You can also choose between three different sauce (brown, black pepper, mushroom), this is the mushroom one! The chicken is really really good!! It's so tender and flavourful! Not just salty but a little sweet as well! DEFINITELY MUST TRY!!

Classic Aglio Olio $10.90 - This is good! You can taste the garlic in it but it is not too overpowering! The mushrooms are really good!

So overall, the food is okay, like it isn't "WOW I WOULD SO GO BACK AGAIN!" and the service isn't that good, the waitress was quite unfriendly so yeah.. but the company was awesome!! Okay, if you miss my face, here it is!

Bene Spaghetti @ Circular Road

Aloha my fellow readers!

My friend Vernice asked me out to her old work place because she wanted to collect her stuffs so I went together with Joreen! It's my second time going there to eat and the food has gotten cheaper but its still good! Okay less talking more pictures. 

The shop is really well decorated inside out! Because its Christmas season so everything is decorated according to that! 

With nice woody furniture, it makes you feel cosy and nice~ 

Okay so this is really interesting cause as long as your reserve the seats, they will write it on a mini blackboard and its so cute right! Love this! 

 Bread that is served upon entering. The bread is nice and not too soft or hard, carries a hint of sourness and fragrance from the herbs. 

 Hehe, I forgot the name of this dish but its fried potatoes with ham and its super delicious!! 

 Stewed beef with mushrooms, love this too! The beef is so flavourful and tender! MUST TRY! 

 White wine clam pasta. Very very good too! Flavourful but not too overpowering :) 

Carbonara. The egg is served separately so you can choose to put it in or not. This is good but its a little thick so I got quite sick of it after while.

Okay so that's all. I love that place and after trying all the new dishes, I would go back soon for sure! Btw, after having dinner, we went to look for our dear friend En Ning who couldn't join us because she have work to surprise her! We are like proud mothers busy snapping photos of her working~

 The leader of the shop kindly donated a cup of ice cream to us so we chose the Bailey's flavoured one. Went crazy over the sprinkles! 

And I found a new bf - Mr Carrot. He is now the love of my life.

Beans & Cream

Hi guys!

Even though the weather is really cold nowadays but Ice Cream is still a necessity in our daily life! Have you ever tried eating ice cream in a super cold place? If you haven't tried that, you should! Its the best feeling in the world and I'm not even kidding~

After church on Sunday, we walked over to this new ice cream store and decided to try it out! You can look at their facebook page here!

They have a variety of ice cream flavor, coffee and even cupcakes! When I was there, the two people tending the shop were friendly and funny. Now let's look at the ice cream~

 Red - Bryan 老师养生冰淇淋 (Blueberry, strawberry, hawthorne berry, chrysanthemun extract) 

Green - Chocolate chips peppermint

 Beige - Hazelnut 

Green - Pistachio

These two flavors is really good and strong. You can taste the flavors clearly. The hazelnut one taste exactly like kinder bueno! 

White - cookies and cream

Brown - Espresso

You can never go wrong with cookies and cream! LOVE IT! The espresso is good too, not too sweet with a hint of bitterness. This espresso ice cream is hand made by the store themselves~ 

Ice cream with waffles - dark chocolate with rose berries

The waffles are awesome! It's crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! Do try it out when you are there! 

Do try it out when you pass by bukit batok, it is only a 10 mins walk from the Bukit Gombak MRT :)

Ichiban Boshi - Woodlands.

So, I feel like blogging so I am going to show you some pictures of food! As you can see from the title, I went to Ichiban Boshi like a few weeks back if I'm not wrong so here are some photos for you~

This is the kind of drink my mum likes to get at places because its special, but for me, I always go for iced water because its free. Haha! 

Some shell thingy that I forgot because I don't really like it.
