가자!~ Korean BBQ!

This is my second time visiting Ssikkek korean BBQ but this time at the Junction 10 outlet. The dinner buffet starts at 5.30pm but be sure to make an early reservation because before you know it, it's already full! The first time, I went to the Chinatown outlet and it was quite awesome, the food were good and there were even live cooking session where the chef made this delicious kimchi wrap~

However, this time round, there wasn't a live cooking session and the wrap wasn't there :( But there is a lot of meat for you to choose from! From all the korean BBQ I have tried, I think I still prefer the one at Amoy Street so I shall go there again soon and blog about it!

This is the new grill they are using, it appears to be using some kind of infra-red technology to cook the food.

The cooked food available! So, let's look.
Fried rice 볶음밥: It tasted average, not bad but not good enough for me to go for seconds.
Japchae : This is not very nice, the outlet at Chinatown & Amoy street has better ones.
Some kind of chicken: Normal.
Tteokbokki 떡볶이: Not bad, the rice cake is flavorful and soft.
Onion Rings: The onion was un-breakable. Haha. It's not the kind where you bite and it will break.

Overall, the food is okay but one thing missing is the marinated pork which I loveeee. They do provide free flow soft drinks and tea which is a plus point.

People who are living in the West area, when you are craving for some Korean BBQ, do go down to Junction 10 and satisfy your craving! Don't have to travel all the way to town ever again~

xoxo.

Strictly Pancakes & Slightly Lost

Hello my lovelies! Just for the people reading my blog, I forsake my bag and brought my DSLR out to take some nice photos to put in my blog!

So me and my girls decided to go to Strictly Pancake on Monday since everyone is raving about it. Before going, I spent some time looking through the reviews and thinking of what I should order.. Met up with Doris for some shopping before meeting Eugenia for pancakes!

Went to New Look's outlet shop and got a surprise for the day which made me so happy~ Bought a top and a romper for less than 35 bucks :D And it's soooo pretty! Shall go back again soon...

Was really hungry after walking around so we decided to grab some finger food! Bought sausage, chicken skin and chicken balls from Tori Q, wasn't going to get the chicken balls but the worker was giving out free tasting and it's so good..

Let's get to the main point of this post,

It is just a 5 min walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station so it is quite easy to get there. Once you see this sign, you know you are at the right place!

Wanted to take a picture of the shop but the trees were blocking me so I decided to take a picture of the sign on the pathway.

Getting bored while waiting for the shop to open? Take pictures of yourself! I look like crap here, just look at my eyebags, it's so scary.

OOTD shot because I was bored and I just love my heels~

So before I went into the shop, I kept asking them if the lighting was good because I hate crappy lighting. And it turns out, the lighting is crappy so I had to try my best to edit the photos.

Maple syrup and butter of your choice given to you after you place your order. You will only get it if you ordered the savoury pancakes. After tasting the maple syrup, me and Eugenia both felt that we still liked McDonald's maple syrup more but maybe this is more authentic and we were just not used to it.

Chicken Wings ($8) - Had to order this because I just wanted to. Made the right choice because it is good! Really crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauce that came with it wasn't as good, saw only that it was some spicy sauce but nope, it just tasted like tomato sauce.

Beef Skewers ($14) - Beef skewers comes with salsa and three pancakes, however, do note that you can downsize your pancakes to two (which is what I did) and $1 will be deducted. This was nothing special, the beef is quite dry and the salsa was not to my liking. The pancakes were plain so you can eat it with the butter and maple syrup, however I still felt that McD's one is nicer.

The Druggie ($11) - Chocolate pancakes with chocolate sauce, chocolate flakes, chocolate ice cream and strawberries. You would love it if you love chocolate, it is nice and rich. The strawberries complements the dish well as you can have something a little sour to cleanse your palate from the rich chocolate.

Garlic Buttered Prawns ($14) - This is just awesome. Comes with three pancakes but you can downsize it as well. If you don't like the idea of pancakes being a savoury dish, this will change your mind because it is so good! Must try!

Overall, I felt that the pancakes are not bad but I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. If you really love pancakes then you should try it out!

My Watami Journey.

Hi guys, if you followed me on Twitter, you will know that I have lost interest in blogging but I am trying to keep this blog alive by blogging something. So I am just going to dig out random photos and blog about them :) I will also blog about my Adventure Cove trip after my photos are developed. Yes, I used a film camera to take all my photos there.

So what shall we blog about? What about my favorite Japanese restaurant?
This is one funny restaurant because the first time I went to the outlet in Ion, I hated it and didn't want to go back ever again. But I went back the second time and fell in love with it... No matter how many times I visit the place, I order the same things over and over again.

Shall dig out some old photos of my visit to Watami to show you the food...

This is the best salad in the whole world and I am not even exaggerating. It's called Watami salad and has a sesame dressing which is sooooo awesome it makes you want to eat salad everyday. I used to hate salad but this salad makes me willingly eat my vegetables.

This is one of the hot pot they serve there, I loveee the hot pot especially the kimchi one, MUST TRY. When I first visited Watami, the kimchi hot pot was just pork, vegetables and stuff. But now, they have a new menu which turns the normal kimchi hot pot into something similar to Budae Jiggae - with a noodle block and rice cake. AWE-FREAKING-SOME.

Let's see, the one above is a sumo pot or something, it's the one with the most type of meat because there is chicken and pork, as well as seafood.

This one is the awesome one that I was talking about. Just look at it
There's pork, sausages, rice cake, noodle block, vegetables. They even allow you to add more soup :)

Now let's look at the old one:
So this is the old hot pot, which in comparison looks so different from the current one. But it's as good :)

This dish below is no longer available in Watami which is very sad because it is damn good! Now they have something similar to replace this but it is just not as good :(
It's some cream croquette, I forgot if it is crab or scallop but it is damn good. Because once you put it in your mouth, it burst open! Seriously. I'm hungry just thinking about this...

Okay guys, that's the end of my Watami journey! Hope you enjoyed this post! Till next time

Shinryoku Yakitori Restaurant - 新绿

Hi people, I have finally decided to blog about this. The photo quality isn't that great okay so please be forgiving when looking at the pictures :)

So my poly friend, Vernice got to know that my other poly classmate's parents have a Japanese yakitori restaurant and there's buffet! Given that the both of us are pigs, we immediately wanted to go! We planned a day and decided to head down to Purvis street, both of us didn't know how to get there but thanks to our best friend google map and thanks to Vernice knowing how to actually read a map, we got there. And we were the first customer. And it's quite fun, I will elaborate on that later. Haha.

Before we went there, we actually saw some reviews saying that the service is super slow so the amazing Vernice ordered a shitload of food at the first round which scared me. But yeah, the food really came quite slow at the start but it wasn't as bad as what they said. And I said being the first customer was fun because everytime a dish is done cooking, they will DING on the bell, since we were the only customer, once the bell DING, we know it's for us and we will be excited. HAHA.

Okay, enough talking, here comes the photo! We didn't ordered a lot a lot actually but it was not little. The pictures were still a little acceptable in the start but as it gets later, the lighting started to suck so please endure.
These are just the basic photos, the interior, the plates, the free ice green tea that looks like beer and the cute menu on the wall with reviews from customers.

With my very Japanese friend, sometimes I wonder how I became friends with her, we are so different. She is like the fashionable one and I'm the one who dress like I'm going to bed everyday. Haha. I guess our friendship is just special. HAHAHAHA.

Wah, this photo not bad ah. Haha. Okay so this is very obvious, it's the edamame which Vernice happily finished. I didn't eat it at all cause I'm not a fan of it.

The must order - salmon sashimi! The first time I ordered one portion but after that I was like heck it, give me two portion at one time.
And look at how thick this is! It's at least like 1.5cm!~~

Deep fried soft shell crab - This was okay, the crab was still moist inside but it wasn't like wow I'm in love kind of thing.

Tempura oyster!! - It's wrapped with some leaf that I've forgotten what's the name. I don't really like the leaf but its actually quite okay. There's two beautiful oyster inside so it shows they are not cheating your money okay! Haha.

Our favorite shishamo! - In case you do not know what it is, it's fish with not fish meat but fish eggs in it. No, it's not gross. Yes, it's delicious.

And behold... (drumroll please~).... CRISPY PORK! It's so good, it's not hard and disgusting, it's so crispy like chips. Seriously, you won't believe how crispy it is until you try it. MUST TRY.

MUST TRY. Bacon prawn! Vernice's favourite~ It's huge prawn wrapped with bacon~ Someone even wanted to name their kids after this dish, that's how good it is. Haha.

Vernice's with her favourite of the day.

Okay the lighting is starting to get quite bad...
Chicken butts! It's was actually quite nice~
"Kiss my little ass" - HAHAHA.

Tofu - I forgotten how to spell it but you should know what is this.
Not really of fan of tofu so I only tried one and it is actually not bad, the sauce is good and it's fried well.

 Top: Asparagus wrapped with bacon
Bottom: Enoki mushrooms wrapped with bacon
It's so amazing how they are able to pack the enoki mushrooms nicely in the bacon because both me and Vernice can't do it.

Random fried chicken chunks given by the waitress. She helped us to order this. Amazingly, once this dish was served, the whole place smells like Mcdonald's chicken nuggets.

MUST TRY. Fried chicken skin~ It's super good! It's super crispy yet not like the potato chips type of crisp. At first I thought it would be tasteless but I was so wrong! The more you bite it, the more fragrant it got. Super good.

The bad thing about this place is that they do not provide us with dessert and you know sometimes after all the salty food, you just want something sweet to cleanse your palette. So.... just nice Vernice gave me some chocolate on the way here so I had that as my dessert. Haha.

Fried cuttlefish. This was normal - it wasn't bad but it wasn't wow!

This is the salmon porridge, its more of a rice with soup thing but its goooooood. Actually Vernice ordered a ramen but that kinda sucks so I didn't post the photo here.

Okay, that's all! Do visit there someday!
