Taobao Tutorial #1

Hi guys!

After the taobao hauls #1 post, I've had feedback telling me that they do not know how to buy things on Taobao. For the benefit of those people, this post is for you! BUT, even if you are a Taobao professional, you can still benefit from this post because I will be listing down the popular keywords needed to search for awesome things on Taobao!

*This is going to be quite a long & details post cause I want to give you guys as much details as possible, if you just want the keywords, scroll down*

*This post will cover the 'traditional way' of getting things on Taobao, look out the Taobao Hauls #2 for the new and easier method*

FIRST, create a 65daigou account. We can't go on after you've done that so please do so, I will wait for you here patiently..

Done? Okay, now let's go on!

Type in your search into the search bar at the top of the Taobao webpage.

If you look carefully, above the items displayed, there will be this bar. It filters out your search, normally I will always search accordingly to the one in the red circle which means 'number of items sold' because I believe that if a lot of people bought that item from that shop, it means that it should be good or at least have more reviews for me to look at.

If you look even closer, you will see the price limitation filter, I rarely use this but it will be useful if you are on a tight budget, note that rmb is about 5x of SGD so just divide by 5 (approx).

Scroll down & look through your search. For example, I want this so I will click it..

It will then bring me to the main item page which contains the pictures, details (measurements), etc. You will just be looking through at this stage, you won't have to make any selection just yet.

Here is an important point that all of you have to take note of! THE REVIEWS! This can affect if you will get a lousy buy or a happy buy. I have translated the reviews header for you so you can refer to that. If you can't read chinese, try to Google translate it. & make sure to look at the real life pictures that the buyers posted to see if the real image looks like the ones in the webpage.

If you see the item and think you want to add it into your 65Daigou cart, copy the address link.

Go to the 65Daigou site, you will see the bar with 'EZ-Buy' on it. Paste the address link from Taobao there & click 'EZ-Buy'

After you click 'EZ-Buy', it will bring you to this page where you have to start selecting the details of the item. Like colour, sizing, etc.

You will also have to choose the warehouse and shipping method (those can be changed at a later point or in your account, you can set a default one) - a lot of people will asked if Shanghai or Guangzhou is better but frankly speaking, there's not much different. JUST make sure that all your items in your order have the same ware house of you will have to two different shipping fee.

After you have everything in your cart, you can see the conversion of currency. They will convert it for you so you can see how much you are spending. You can also check and uncheck items if you do not want it.

When you have finalized your orders, click check out. At the top when you choose the items in Daigou, you will have to select the shipping method, normally I will choose economy air cause it's cheap and fast! You can take a look at the different shipping methods and choose from there!

There will be steps after checkout like payment (i-banking, atm transfer, paypal) and stuffs that the website will guide you on. After all that, when your parcel arrives, they will ask you to arrange delivery.

There are a lot of collection method - MRT, neighbourhood, self collection at ware house & home collection. There are a lot of collection point all over Singapore so no worries even if you stay in the East or West! Go over to the website too see all the available location.

For me, I chose to do a MRT collection at Choa Chu Kang so below is what the collection point looks like. Sorry if the picture is blur and small (Had to secretly take a photo of them)

After you have arranged delivery, you will have to do a second payment (for shipping) - if you do not want to pay online, you can pay cash at the collection point.

After everything is confirmed, 65Daigou will send you a message few hours before the collection to remind you. When you arrive at the collection point, you will see people with blue boxes and you know that is it!

Don't worry if you arranged a delivery and couldn't make it last minute cause you can arrange another delivery another day! (not applicable if you arrange for self pick up at warehouse!)

I Love My Kanken - Review

Hi guys!

Firstly, I need to thank all of you guys for being so supportive of my last post which is the Taobao Hauls #1, if you haven't read it yet, you should! Because of your support, I've decided to do a Taobao tutorial post & I'm currently prepping for it so it should be anytime soon! I will be posting on my Facebook when that happens so do remember to read and share! Even if you're already a 'taobao pro', still do check it out because I will be listing down the commonly asked keywords (off shoulder top/ strappy sandals/ crop top/ etc) / keywords you need in taobao to find the pretty things.

For now, while waiting for more Taobao hauls / Flea hauls / tutorial, let me share with you guys my new found love (I know I'm kinda slow on this but better late then never right #hipster). If you guys know me personally, you know that I've changed my bag and bought a FjällRäven Kånken for school because I became so tired of holding the laptop by hand.

I know you can get them locally but I wanted the black one and it seems that in Singapore, they don't supply a lot of black Kånken so I had to find other means to get it. They do have a lot of Kånken on Carousell but they were selling for $40 so I really didn't wanted to risk getting a fake bag.

Why spend $125 when you can spend $90?

Researching online & stumbled upon this website called Ilovemykanken, it's super awesome because it's based in the UK so for all customers out of the EU, they get 20% OFF (some tax refund) + free shipping + addition discount codes offers.

So as you can see, for now, the discount code offers you 20% discount on top of the 20% tax refund!

You can select from the style, the colour, bestseller, sales items, etc & they have almost everything so it's much easier than going to retails stores cause most of them only have a small fraction of items available.

These are just some of the colours they offer, & the prices are in SGD (remember to change it on the top right corner!) - the prices for outside the EU are shown so you can see how much you save!

So just choose the design and colour you like, indicate the quantity then add it to your basket! Once you have finalized your orders, choose the shipping country and click check out!
REMEMBER, the price you see now is the price before the discount.

So here is where the magic begins... key in the discount code, sometimes its 15%, sometimes its 20% so you just got to see you luck. After you key it in, click recalculate to see how much will you be paying after the discount. - in this case [$86.26] instead of the original [$129.37]

IS THAT CRAZY OR WHAT?!

So after dancing a happy dance because of the money you've saved, you can start filing in your details & start paying! - They accept credit/debit card. I used my POSB debit card and had a fuss-free transaction.

After you're done with your payment, you will receive around 3 emails, two just telling you they have received your payment and one telling you that you bought something. The third email is the important one because it has your tracking number. Tracking your parcel is so fun because you want to know when will it be reaching you. Mine came around 2 weeks or lesser.

Also, it comes by royal mail so I don't know, haha it made me felt happier, I don't know about you.

TADAH!
Of course I added a personal touch to it by adding a fluffy unicorn. So there's the bag, it fits my Fujitsu Lifebook which is like 13.3" and 3cm thick. I put my charger, waller, water bottle inside and it's still spacious if you're wondering so I think it's a pretty good and practical bag + it's so easy to match with any outfit.

However, a point to take note is that the bag gets dirty quite easily, yes, even black. It's not really dirt, it's just white 'powder dust' - sounds so mystical, on the bag and it annoys me but actually a lot of people tell me it's not obvious and its very common.
---------------------

Price comparison:
Retail stores - $125
Zalora - $129
Ilovemykanken - $129.37 (before discount)
                          $86.26 (after discount)

So if you guys want to get a FjällRäven Kånken, you can consider getting it from ILOVEMYKANKEN cause who doesn't why to get a good deal right?

Hope you guys enjoyed this post & I promise I will post more hauls / taobao tutorial soon so be patient and thank you all again for your support!

Stay tune for more cheap deals from the shopping princess of Cheapsville. HAHA.

xoxo.

Taobao Hauls #1

Okay guys, it's definitely not my first time buying from Taobao but since it's the first time I will be posting about it on my blog so it will be #1.

I've actually vlog about my hauls from Taobao & it's on my YouTube channel but I'm sure none of you have watched it cause I didn't publicize it anywhere. So if you want to watch it, I'm gonna put it here. This post will just be a close up of the things I've gotten because in the video I didn't really show them clearly.

*Will include the links on the bottom of the post!

Yes, that's me being submerged by two huge daigou bags.

So let's start!

A lot of the things I've got are still in the bag and unused but some of them are already my favourite so I don't have product image of them but I can show you how it looks like on me!

1. MY PHONE

I saw these on Carousell and people were pre-ordering them so I was like "I'm sure they are getting it from TaoBao so here I come". - I've never liked pre-order stuffs from Carousell cause it's so obvious they are getting it from TaoBao so why not I get it myself right.

On TaoBao, there are actually another kind of the My Phone casing where the words 'My Phone' are printed on the transparent casing itself then they provide you with different background cards.
BUT
I went to see the reviews and they say that the printed words gets scraped off really easily so I thought it would be better to get this kind.

If you know me personally, you would have known that I am still using my 'nokia' casing and I bought lots and lots of iphone casings but I most of them are still nicely placed in the box cause I have to many. So I hope I will use these soon.

2. LAPTOP CASING

I saw this laptop casing on Taobao and Qoo10 but on Taobao it's much cheaper because Qoo10 still has those hidden pricing (+$5 stuffs).

When I saw it I was so shocked because the quality is super awesome! The material was sturdy and has thick foams to protect the laptop. I bought laptop casing because I thought I will be carrying a bag and holding the laptop in another hand but now I gave up on that and bought a Kanken. So I really don't know when will I be using all my laptop casings.

3. KEYBOARD COVERS

I first bought my laptop cover at the SCAPE Flea and I've never saw them again. By the way, my laptop is a Fujitsu Lifebook so anyone who isn't a Mac user would know how hard it is to get pretty keyboard covers.

I finally went to find them on Taobao to see if they have it and it turns out that, they do! So I went crazy and bought A LOT. All for Fujitsu Lifebook in different colours.

I tried it on my laptop and it fits perfectly! The quality is awesome as well & it's super worth it!

4. STATEMENT NECKLACE

Okay, these has been getting lots of attention from everyone! So here are close-up pictures of them, there are still like two others that I didn't take a picture from cause I'm simply too lazy.

These necklaces easily costs at least $20 in retail stores but in TaoBao, they cost $5 or less! The details are super pretty and the quality is actually not bad! I recommend everyone to get them, especially the one in the first picture!!

5. CLOTHES
I bought crop tops that were really cheap! When it arrived, I was surprised because the quality was awesome. I got them in white & grey, have already worn the white one & it's now one of my favourite top cause it's so comfy and versatile! + the white is not translucent at all!

Lace embroidery mini dress/top - got this just cause it was cheap, It's currently still in the plastic bag because what's new right. I rarely wear everything I buy. It's looks quite good though & for this, 65daigou was awesome because when it arrived their warehouse, they saw a defect and immediately demanded the seller to send another one over~

I got this top/mini dress that's super pretty with the details and crochet and all. Wore it twice, once with shorts and once with jeans. I think it looks better with shorts. Quality was awesome as well, free sized so it will fit mostly anyone~

Striped crop top that was super cheap as well. Like around 3 bucks! If you get this even in Bugis street, I'm sure you have to pay at least like $10. I wanted to get it in more colour but realised I don't really look very good with this cutting so I only got this one.

+ The shoes: Strappy Heels that costs like $13! But I don't know if it's me or what, wore it once and the back kinda fell apart. Nothing that we can't fix but still :(

Off-shoulder top! Got this on TB for like $4+, quality was super duper good & the material is so comfy. Got it in both black and cream white but haven't wore the white one yet.

6. SOCKS
I absolutely love buying socks on TB because they are so cheap and the quality is just top-notch. I bought a few peter rabbits socks last time and it's so cute, I saw them at Haji Lane for $17 & I got them for like $2? However, you can't find the ones I bought on TB anymore and I'm so sad.

BUT, like the Chinese saying "If the old doesn't leave, the new doesn't come" so I found new and cuter socks.
AREN'T THESE JUST ADORABLE & ARTSY FARTSY!?
I saw these and I was like 'OMG I have to get it!", I adore Vincent Van Gogh so I want everything that has his paintings printed on. There are 4 designs if I'm not wrong but I only got these two.

I saw them on Qoo10 as well but it's not worth the price + shipping so I got them on TB instead.

AND THESE!
Can anyone resist this? Of course not, it's a hamburger and rubber ducky for god's sake. These are freaking cheap as well and the quality if of course again very very good!

So,
I actually got some other things like a denim skirt but I don't have a picture of it. I will be posting another TaoBao hauls post once I get my 11.11 things but I don't think it will be that soon. I'm prepping for my other hauls to be posted up so stay tune!

The links for the items are below, some are missing cause its out of stock already.

Have fun shopping!

Kiseki + A shopaholic's life.

What's better than food and shopping, introduced my friend to this Japanese buffet restaurant called Kiseki. They serve really cheap lunch buffets during weekdays and the food are really good and worth the money so do check it out!

After eating, we decided to move on to our favourite hobby which is SHOPPING! Went thrifting today at a shop called New2U & let me tell you, it's the best place ever because everything is so freaking cheap! I bought three items for less than $10 combined! Want to know more? Check out my thrifting post here!

How can we stop at just one shop right, we moved on to Bugis Junction - Street - Bugis+ to continue our adventure! From Bras Basar, we wanted to walk to Bugis Junction but the fact that we are street idiots who has a zero sense of direction, we decided to give up and take the train instead. Took the downtown line and I was so amazed by how the train looks cause its so cute! Couldn't resist snapping photos of it and thus resulting in me looking like a tourist.

Went to Bugis street and I just can't seem to control myself  so I went crazy and started spending money like running water. Bought some really nice stuff! Wanted to vlog but I'm too lazy so yeah, I bought lots of stuff - skirt, romper, tops, etc~~ Spent so much money but I'm so happy~

Hope you have fun reading!

xoxo.

Thrifting - Why spend $20 when you can spend $2?

Thrift shopping is the BIG thing now as everyone loves to shop but doesn't want to spend too much. I used to frequent Salvation Army's Praise Haven but I only go there because my family wants to. I didn't buy anything and didn't know that there will be good stuffs there. However after reading a lot of thrifting posts, I changed my mind and decided to dig for treasures in thrift shops!

*I wanted to vlog but I'm really busy so I will just talk about my hauls :)

These are the thrift shops that I've already been to:

Salvation Army - Praise Haven Thrift Store (Bukit Timah)

500 Upper Bukit Timah Road S(678106)

Mondays - Thursdays 10am to 6pm

Fridays & Saturdays 10am to 9pm
Closed on Sundays

They sell lots of stuff! From furniture to clothes to gadgets, they have it all! Every Wednesday there's 50% off for furniture so do check it out! From my experience, their stuffs are not exactly very very cheap which means that averagely, a dress there may cost you around $15 which is actually the price you can get from Bugis street.

What I bought there:
- Archie Comics! (Double digest for $4, normal for $2)
Not exactly the cheapest thing but compared to the normal retail price, its already 50% off~
- Two tops, each for $5
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

96 Waterloo Street, Singapore (187967)

This is going to be one of my favourite thrift shop now & I am sure I will go back again to check it out! This shop is just about a 5 mins walk from Bras Basar MRT station. The shop is not very big but they do sell quite a lot of things! The stuffs are all very very cheap and if you are a student, do go on a Tuesday because you are entitled to a 50% discount (except certain items).

What I bought there:
I bought 3 tops! And guess how much it cost in total? *drumroll* $6!! Each top is $2! And it's really pretty and one is mphosis! I was supposed to vlog and show you guys but since I didn't have time for that, look at the picture below :) That's one of the top that I bought and it features my other cheap deals~ Haha.

I will be looking for more thrift shops & blog about them so stay tune!

xoxo.
